General Statement of Safety Policy
It is the policy of the director of Grade 2 Structural Repairs (The Company) to provide healthy and safe working conditions for all its employees and to abide by and satisfy the requirements of the Hea1th and Safety at Work Act etc. 1974 and the Management of stealth and Safety at Work Regulations 1992.
The Company is committed to taking all practical steps to safeguard its employees (Both management and staff), customers and visitors from injury and ill health on site within the United Kingdom, where the company is conducting its business.
In pursuance of this objective the company will:
- Use the safe procedures for equipment operation and material handling.
- Observe in full, legislation relating to health & safety at work.
- Cause this to be observed by employees, both management and staff.
- Ensure adequate education and training for this purpose.
- Ensure that any accidents occurring, however minor are fully recorded and investigated and that appropriate remedial action taken. Where necessary a report will be made to the Hea1th and Safety Executive.
It is recognised that Management and Staff must work together positively to achieve a situation where personal injuries and hazards to health of staff can be reduced to a minimum. The company will therefore, look to all employees to exercise responsibility to maintain healthy and safe working conditions by:
- Taking responsible care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions.
- Co-operate as far as necessary with the company to enable it to carry out duties and or requirements laid down under the Health and Safety at Work Act.
- Fully utilizing all safety equipment, devices and protective clothing provided.
- Co-operating in the formation of and adherence to safety measures.
The company will ensure that comprehensive advice and assistance is available on all matters of health and safety and that arrangements exist for identifying and where applicable eliminating and minimizing hazards affecting health and safety.
This policy will be kept up to date, particularly in view of any changes in working practices and to ensure this policy is, and has been, operated within the above method of operations and an annual review will be carried out by the company Director.
